Awarded The Queen’s Anniversary Prize in 2002. The Award was made after rigorous evaluation of the work in Science at John Leggott College, and its contribution to the development of science education locally, nationally and internationally.
The Chairman of the Executive for the Award, Mr Robin Gill, said in a citation: "It is my great pleasure to advise you that Her Majesty the Queen has affirmed the award of the Queen's Anniversary Prize for Higher and Further Education to your College. This Award follows the recommendation of the Awards Council to the Prime Minister, who advises the Queen."
Most of the award winners are leading universities, such as Oxford and Cambridge. Very few other colleges have been granted this award. It shows the excellent standard of Science teaching in the college.
