The College and the Community

The college has long-standing links with primary schools, secondary schools, Higher Education institutions and the wider community. The college has an ethos of aspiration and achievement which has seen it double in size over the past decade. In the same period our links with our educational and the wider community have grown apace.

The college has developed high quality, diverse ways of working with primary schools, secondary schools and universities to raise and sustain aspirations of all learners. We use our strong links with schools and Higher Education to make connections and create partnerships in which we work together to engage and inspire young people. Our excellence in school/college partnerships has been recognised by an Association of Colleges Beacon Award.

The college also has strong links with a whole range of statutory, voluntary and commercial organisations, including the local authority, the Health Authority and Primary Care Trust, Humberside Police and Rescue Services and many other bodies. This enables us to provide excellent support to students in developing their personal, emotional, social, mental, physical, spiritual and academic wellbeing.

Industrial Liaison Document

At John Leggott College there is a consistent effort to create and extend links with local industry so that students develop an understanding and appreciation of the industrial world in its widest sense through their day to day learning and in their career aspirations. This Industrial Liaison Report details some of the activities the College has organised for students, including work experience, work shadowing and learning from industry and community representatives.
