Breaking Barriers Programme

Introduction

Do you want to develop the skills you need to get the job you want?

 

Do you need to sort out some ideas for your future, perhaps by improving your qualifications or developing your confidence?

 

If so then enrol for the 'Breaking Barriers Programme' that is brand new for November 2011. The 2 day a week course will equip you with the key skills you need to continue your education or find work / apprenticships.

 

A team of top staff at John Leggott College will work with  you to help you gain confidence and achieve recognised qualifications in Maths, Communication, IT, First Aid, Leadership and Work Skills.

 

Key Dates in the Programme

 

17th November 2011 - Afternoon only - enrolment afternoon to meet the staff and fill in an application form.

 

18th November 2011 - Breaking Barriers Introductory day.

 

25th November 2011 - Course commences and runs until 29th March 2012

 

Work Experience

 

You will be encouraged to seek part-time work or a voluntary placement that will support your career goals.

 

Financial Support

 

Financial support is available from the college to help with essential college costs. Students whose household is on a low income may be eligible for a contribution towards books, equipment and other learning related expenses. Application forms and further information abou tthe 16 - 19 Bursary Fund or the 19+ Discretionary Learner Support Fund are available from the Student Support Centre.
