Student Services Directory
John Leggott’s Student Services are here to support and advise students who have issues that may affect their studies or attendance at college. If you need advice the following student services are available:
Assistant Principal (Student Services)
Child Protection Officer Janice Gibson is head of the Student Services Department and manages the Senior Tutors. Janice is responsible for the admission of students to college and the programme of study.

Careers Support and Higher Education Advice Room A050
The College's Careers Centre exists to support prospective and
current John Leggott College students in making informed choices about study and career options at 15/16 yrs and then again at 17/18/19 yrs.

College Chaplain – Personal Support Room A046
Susan Walker is the college Chaplain and is here to support students and staff of all faiths and none in a variety of ways. Susan is also an experienced counsellor and offers support in a confidential setting to those wishing to discuss personal problems.
Open term-time Monday-Friday during College hours.
Additional Support
The Additional Support Co-ordinator works closely with the Inclusive Learning Co-ordinator to arrange ‘in class’ support for students with medical, physical and sensory disabilities.
Learning Support – Study Zone A Block
Offers help and support from Learning Mentors to any student who experience difficulties organising their work or with study and coursework skills. There is also specific help available for learning difficulties including dyslexia and dyspraxia.

For support and advice on health issues from a qualified nurse.

Student Welfare Officer Room A043
Offers support and guidance to students who are experiencing personal circumstances that are impacting on their studies. This service is confidential.
Open term-time Tuesday-Friday 8.30am-4.30pm
Student Support Office Room A049
Offers support and advice on a range of issues affecting students including financial, transportation, attendance and reporting absences.
Open all year round Monday to Thursday 8am – 5pm, Friday 8am – 4.30pm
