We, at John Leggott College, are delighted to announce we are now working with 780 coaching to provide students the opportunity to gain a Level Three qualification in sport whilst training alongside their studies with professional football coaching with our new partners. We are the first sixth form college to be offering this programme with 780.

This exciting opportunity is open for a Male and Female Football Team alongside the following course options:

  • Physical Education A Level;
  • Sport Performance and Excellence BTEC Certificate;
  • Sport Performance and Excellence BTEC Extended Diploma.

780 coaching are associated with Sheffield Wednesday FC Academy and aim to increase the opportunity for players to enter the SWFC Academy. To date over 40 players have been signed to professional football clubs from 780 coaching which is a fantastic opportunity for our future athletes. We also have more news to follow with other links locally.

If you are interested in this course, applications for 2020 will open on the 1st August.

If you are joining us in September 2019, you can also sign up for the football teams. When you enrol, you will need to note your interest for football as your enrichment option; this will then assign you to the development squad, first or second team or futsal depending on ability.

Training will be on twice a week within college time, and games will take place on an additional afternoon.

It is also a pleasure to welcome back former JLC students, Chris Priestly and Oliver Bradbury, to deliver this initiative.

If you are interested in joining our Football Academy, please contact admissions@leggott.ac.uk, and they will be able to pass on your details to our coaches.
