Despite our best efforts to protect you we now know that one person within the college community has tested positive for Covid-19. That person is now self-isolating at home and we wish them a full and speedy recovery.
With nearly 2000 people in our community we recognised that a positive test was always a possibility so before reopening this month we put things in place to reduce the risk of infection as far as we could. As a result of the positive test we have now put further response plans into action.
Everyone who has been in close contact with the individual affected has now been told. This is a small bubble of 11 and if this was you or your child you would already have been contacted by the college. This small bubble has been given advice on the actions they need to take to protect themselves and others. They will be self-isolating in line with Public Health advice and guidance.
We want to ensure we continue to provide as safe an environment as is possible for everyone in our community.
Since returning to college you will have seen many things that are in place to protect our community and to prevent the spread of the virus. Social distancing, managing access and movement around the college, the wearing of face coverings, enhanced cleaning and reshaping our timetables are a few of the steps we have taken.
