Update: Sunday 3rd January 2021.

Please see below the following arrangements for students on their return to JLC on Tuesday 5th January. 

We would like to wish you all a Happy New Year and we hope that 2021 brings you health and happiness.

We are looking forward to welcoming you back to JLC.

Here is an update following the Secretary of State’s Announcement.

The start of term has been delayed, please see below and apply how this affects you.

We will continue on the same timetable with morning lessons on site and afternoon lessons virtually. This will be reviewed on a weekly basis.

W/c 5th January: 

Students on site: (AM only, Wednesday all day)

  • All students who have a formal external exam in January and vulnerable students and key worker parent students are optional on site.
  • Foundation/Supported Internship Students.

Teaching staff will remind students on Monday 4th January if they have an exam.

Students on virtual lessons: 

  • Year 11
  • Year 12
  • Year 13
  • Level 2 students (GCSE resits)
  • Afternoon lessons are virtual except for Wendesdays
  • Art Foundation

W/c 11th January: 

Students on site: (AM only, Wednesday all day)

  • All students who have a formal external exam in January and vulnerable students and key worker parent students are optional on site.
  • Foundation/Supported Internship Students.
  • Year 11
  • Year 12 – Further Maths only
  • Year 13
  • Level 2 students (GCSE resits)
  • Art Foundation

Students on virtual lessons: 

  • Year 12
  • Pre A Level (International students)

W/c 18th January: 

Students on site: (AM only, Wednesday all day)

All students will now return to their normal timetable (this is the same as before Christmas, AM lessons on site, PM lessons virtually.)

Students on virtual lessons only: 

  • This only applies to students who have requested remote learning and has been approved by the Academic Advocate Manager prior to Christmas. 

Transport:

For students on college provided transport these services will run as normal, or an alternative will be provided. With regard to public transport, we have not been informed of any issues. Student Services will liaise with individual students. If you have any specific queries please email  and they will respond to you on their return on the 4th January: studentservices@leggott.ac.uk

Remote Learning: 

If you have any access issues with online learning, please email ithelpdesk@leggott.ac.uk or your Academic Advocate.

Mass Testing:

The Government has announced mass testing in college. The intention is that all staff and students are tested twice over a 3-5 day period. It is not clear currently if this has to be done before the full return on the 18th. However, we are clear on the following:

  • Testing is optional
  • Year 11 parent/carers will have to provide consent for their son/daughter.
  • Year 12/13 will have to provide their consent.

More details will followe as we receive further guidance.
