We are more than delighted to celebrate with our Foundation and Supported Internship students their driving skills success today. Our students will be graduating from our Driving Skills Programme in partnership with Simon Price School of Motoring.

Our Foundation Studies support students with special educational needs following school to have the opportunity to develop their independence skills, life skills and academic ability.

Our partner, Simon Price School of Motoring, has provided an opportunity for our students to learn and practise behind the wheel. “One of our former students when they progressed from John Leggott had employment lined up, however, faced the barrier of transport to get there. We considered how we could overcome this challenge. So, we researched, researched and researched some more, and found nothing. So, we contacted many driving schools and connected with Simon Price Driving School.” Marc Device, Support Internship Tutor.

We have had the pleasure of BBC Radio Humberside and BBC Look North joining us to celebrate with our incredible students today to celebrate and promote their amazing success. “It was a bit worrying and it was difficult but I really enjoyed it.” Alex, Supported Intern Student.

Marc has been the pioneer for this whole programme; he has pushed relentlessly for a driving skills opportunity for our students. It is a fantastic demonstration to inspire other academic institutions to hopefully follow suit.
