Course Overview

This course is ideal for learners who have an interest for learners with an interest in the principles and practical applications of science, where the assessment will be largely in the form of research and practical investigations alongside the fundamental core science concepts. The course develops the learner’s understanding of key applications of science and builds the skills required both for the scientific workplace and for further study.

You could complement your studies with enrichment activities including First Aid, the Fitness Instructor Award or Basic Food Hygiene.

This course will enable you to study BTEC Extended Certificate or Diploma Applied Science at Level Three.


Who is this course aimed at?

This course is aimed at students on our Level Two Steps to Success Program, alongside English or Maths GCSE looking to build on their Level Two Portfolio with an interest in improving their Science qualification.

What will you learn?

This course is assessed by coursework (75%) and exams (25%) and can be taken as either one GCSE or two GCSE equivalent.
