Business BTEC Extended Certificate
What will I learn?
All units count equally to the final grade that you will be awarded. The 4 units need to be completed over one year to gain the Extended Certificate.
Unit 1 Exploring Business
Designed to enable learners to understand the variety and different types of business.
Unit 2 Developing a Marketing Campaign
Introduces the main principles of marketing. It looks at the various techniques that businesses use to sell their goods and services.
Unit 3 Personal and Business Finance
Explores the use and implications of financial products. This will give students a greater insight into financial decision making.
Unit 8 Investigating Recruitment and Selection
Looks in more detail at how a business recruits and selects its workforce. Students actually produce a recruitment package for a selected job role.
5 GCSEs at grade C or above, including Maths and English at grade 4 or above.
GCSE (old) Points Average: 4.0 or above, including 5 C grades

1 or 2 years
How will I be assessed?
The course has 2 externally assessed units and 2 units will be assessed by the completion of appropriate coursework. Students will need to work to set deadlines in order to be successful.

The BTEC Extended Certificate in Business will be attractive to students who:

- want to take a course where they are assessed entirely by coursework
