What will I learn?
You will have the opportunity to represent the college and play against other colleges. You may also be chosen to play in the Association of Colleges’ (AoC) competitions, as well as other college local and friendly fixtures. As part of the AoC competition, we enter badminton, table tennis, squash, swimming, trampolining, and cross country. You can also take part in preparing for charity events such as the ‘Race for Life’.
Team sports include:
- Hockey (male and female)
- Football (male and female)
You can learn a range of useful skills, including:
- Diet and Nutritional Advice/Information
- Personal Profiling (Sport Psychology)
- Coaching Awards
- Umpiring Qualifications
- Teaching and Tactical Awareness
Open to all students who have a keen interest in team sport

Who is this course aimed at?
Sports team are a well-established venture at college, open to all students (16+) who demonstrate ability and potential in their chosen career.
Applicants may be invited to attend trials as part of the selection process and students who join will gain a specialist combination of fitness, development and team building, and receive competitive experience alongside their chosen programme of study.
Progression routes will depend upon the full-time study/academic programme undertaken, and the level of practical ability in performance and coaching. Possibilities are Higher Education, employment in sport and leisure industry or scholarship/coaching opportunities.
