Course Overview

This course is ideal for learners who are aged 16 or above who wish to progress onto further education or into the workplace. This course has been designed to support learners to progress onto level 3 qualifications across a number of sectors, including the early years educator sector, the supporting teaching and learning sector, and the children and young people sector.

You could complement your studies with enrichment activities including School Experience, Sign Language or First Aid.


Who is this course aimed at?

This course is aimed at students on our Level Two Steps to Success Program, alongside English or Maths GCSE looking to build on their Level Two Portfolio.

What will you learn?

All units taken count towards the final grade that is awarded.

  • You will gain an understanding of working with children aged 0-11 years.
  • Learn about the development and well being of children.
  • Understand aspects of childcare and development.
You will also be required to complete a minimum of 120 hours of placement in a work environment. At the end of the qualification you will also be required to complete a short synoptic examination.
