JLC Student Becomes North Lincolnshire’s New Young Mayor
Since he started with us in September, Levi Bonnet has made quite in impact on both us here at John Leggott College and the students of North Lincolnshire, as he has recently been elected North Lincolnshire Youth Council’s new Young Mayor.
We’re very proud of what Levi has achieved and we’ve aimed to support every decision he has made on his journey to becoming Young Mayor and Chairman of the Young Mayor’s Executive Team.
“I decided to run for the Office of the Young Mayor as I feel it is crucial that the youth of North Lincolnshire have a representative who can be trusted to get the job done, and follow up on their interests, ensuring their ideas are implemented effectively.”, says Levi. With his main focus on the LGBT+ representation within the local area, he wants to make necessary amendments to any policies that are currently in place in relation to Mental Health. Here at JLC, we’ve taken a huge step in the right direction by employing a full-time Mental Health Advisor to join our Well-being Team this year. We’re proud to provide a fantastic college experience for all of our students by providing support with both their studies and their general well-being.
When asked about his time at John Leggott College, he states, “Ever since I announced my candidacy, JLC has provided me with the support and included me in events which had allowed me to further promote my campaign. Without the support of JLC, primarily Principal Leon Riley, I don’t imagine the campaign would have been as effective in reaching out to young people.”
We know you WILL make a difference!
We wish you all of the luck in the world in your Political career, Levi.
