Courses & Exams
For students who need a more structured and supportive environment, our specialist Foundation Learning department offers bespoke entry level provision. Many students within this area of the college have additional learning needs and may have progressed to us from a specialist school. Our SENCO is Hayley Farrell, who can be contacted via firstname.lastname@example.org
GCSE / BTEC – Level 2
For students who need an additional year to enhance their GCSE results, we offer resits in GCSE English and GCSE Maths, alongside a programme of other Level 2 qualifications that your son or daughter may not have had the opportunity to study during their time at school.
A Levels – Level 3
Completed over two years, these qualifications are more academic in their content and are often assessed through exams. Students would normally take three Level 3 qualifications, which can be a combination of both A Levels and BTECs.
BTECS – Level 3
Completed over either one or two years depending on the subject taken, these qualifications lend themselves to students who want a more vocational approach. The assessments for these are through coursework, controlled assessments and work placements in some cases.
Art Foundation – Level 3/4
Our one-year Art Foundation course appeals to students who wish to develop a deeper understanding of their chosen medium, following completion of an art-based Level 3 qualification. It can often improve chances of gaining entry to a prestigious HE provider or competitive apprenticeship.
