HR Casework Officer

Are you an experienced HR professional with a passion for people and process? Do you thrive in a fast-paced environment where your expertise in casework and employment law can truly make an impact? 

We’re looking for a proactive and knowledgeable HR Casework Officer to join our dedicated HR team at John Leggott College. In this key role, you’ll lead on a wide range of employee relations matters, ensuring fair, consistent, and legally compliant outcomes that support our inclusive and high-performing culture. 

What You’ll Be Doing 

  • Managing HR casework from start to finish, including disciplinary, grievance, capability, probation, and sickness cases. 

  • Coordinating investigations, hearings, and appeals. 

  • Advising managers on employment law and policy compliance. 

  • Supporting the HR Manager and deputising when required. 

  • Assisting with broader HR functions such as recruitment, payroll, and administration. 

What We’re Looking For 

  • CIPD qualified (or working towards) with strong knowledge of employment law. 

  • Proven experience in HR casework and working with trade unions. 

  • Excellent communication, organisation, and interpersonal skills. 

  • Ability to manage multiple complex workstreams and meet tight deadlines. 

  • Experience in the education sector is desirable but not essential.
