A*SPIRE – our gifted and talented programme
A*spire is our stretch and challenge programme which offers opportunities for high-achieving students to help them gain a competitive edge, maximise their potential and reach their aspirational goals.
Every year many of the students on the programme gain places at prestigious universities such as Oxford, Cambridge and Russell Group universities. Additionally our students have successfully enrolled onto Dentistry, Medicine and Veterinary courses at top institutions.
Throughout the A*spire programme, students can expect to gain further subject knowledge through the completion of Massive Open Online Courses (MOOC’s) giving them a ‘virtual’ taste of HE study. They’ll also develop their critical thinking and problem-solving skills, gain access to summer schools and interview support, and hear talks from JLC alumni and other external speakers. These opportunities allow students to step outside their comfort zone, and give them new skills to help them succeed.
Students who might benefit from the programme are invited to attend our annual A*spire evening where they can find out more about the programme. This is promoted through our school network, open events and social media. If you have any questions about the programme you can email firstname.lastname@example.org.
