“JLC was much closer to home, so I could save time on travel and they had consistently good results for the subjects I wanted to do. I liked being able to organise my time, and decide what to work on next. There are lots of study spaces for group work and silent study. The friends I had at JLC were great and I met a really diverse group of people.
I was part of the Medical Society and choir, and I also completed a work experience placement in a local school. The Opportunities and Destinations team was great, helping with my personal statement and providing mock interviews.
I’m really glad I studied at JLC because my time there has helped me to get into the course I wanted. I am now studying Medicine at the University of Sheffield and the staff at JLC really supported me with my application.
College was a completely different experience; we weren’t there for long but the teachers were amazing, and it gave me the opportunity to make great new friends.”
