John Leggott College Progress Tutor Session

 PARENT & CARER INFORMATION

Thank you for taking the time to learn more about John Leggott College. We hope to provide you with an insight into our unique provision with over 54 years experience supporting students to achieve their dreams and ambitions. We have an excellent range of A Level and BTEC level 3 courses to help provide you with the essential keys you will need to progress on to your chosen pathway or indeed, keep your options open if you are currently undecided about your future goals.

7 out of every 10 JLC learners achieved high grades (A*/A/B and Distinction*/Distinction) in 2022, despite not having sat formal examinations since primary school. They are now progressing on to Oxbridge, Russel Group universities, apprenticeships and the workplace. JLC students go on to become accountants and lawyers, actors and musicians, medics, dentists and vets, psychologists, journalists, film makers, teachers and fashion designers as well as many others. They are at the forefront of industry and your child could be one of them.

In supporting students to fulfil their ambitions, we excel and pride ourselves in providing over 30 weekly extended opportunities ranging from Journalism and Social Media internships to a full range of competitive, successful sport teams, chess club and photography to name a few. Many of these opportunities are run by students, for students in addition to our enthusiastic teaching staff.

Now we are pandemic free, JLC is once again globe-trotting. We offer students the opportunity to go to places such as Malta, Italy, Switzerland, Portugal, New York and Washington.

We look forward to having the opportunity to meet you, either at one of our scheduled open events throughout the year where you can meet staff and students or for parents of current students, at one of our parents evenings.

 PARENTS AND

We understand that a college application can often be a process that impacts not just on the student, but their family and friends too. As a parent or guardian it is important for you to know that your son or daughter is selecting a college that will support them and provide them with access to outstanding teaching, support and progression opportunities.

We also appreciate that heading to college can present some additional demands on a household so we offer help with this, whether you’re supporting a student heading to us straight from school, or returning to college after a break.

Once a student has enrolled with us at college, they will be assigned a Progress Tutor who will be their key contact at JLC if you have any queries please ask to speak to your son/daughters Progress Tutor.
