Project SEARCH Facilitator
Make a Real Impact – Empower Young Adults to Succeed
Are you passionate about transforming lives and guiding young adults towards brighter futures? As a Project SEARCH Facilitator, you’ll play a vital role in helping young adults with learning disabilities gain meaningful employment, develop critical life skills, and build lasting confidence.
What You’ll Be Doing:
In this role, you will lead the delivery of a life-changing transition-to-work programme based at the Scunthorpe Central Library. You’ll be the central figure connecting students, employers, and support services, ensuring each young person receives the tailored guidance they need to thrive in the workplace.
Working closely with North Lincolnshire Council, you’ll identify exciting internship opportunities within the host business and beyond, allowing students to gain hands-on experience and build marketable skills. You’ll assess each student’s strengths, interests, and goals, creating personalised learning plans that address both immediate needs and long-term career aspirations.
Beyond simply teaching job skills, you’ll empower students with critical life abilities like communication, teamwork, and self-advocacy – essential for both work and personal growth. You’ll also provide practical support, from travel training to implementing reasonable adjustments in the workplace, ensuring each student feels confident and capable in their roles.
Your work will involve regular communication with families, support services, and employers, keeping everyone on the same page as students progress through their internships. You’ll maintain accurate student records, track achievements, and celebrate successes, making each milestone meaningful for both students and their support networks.
