About this course
The Pearson Level 3 BTEC National Extended Certificate in Health and Social Care is equivalent to one A Level and is designed to be studied alongside two other A Levels or equivalent qualifications. It’s especially suited to students considering university or higher education in health and social care as a pathway into careers such as nursing, midwifery, social work, occupational therapy, or other healthcare roles.

What will you learn?
Students on this course will complete four units, selected from a range of topics to best support their progression needs. Units may include areas such as communication skills, individual rights and needs, maintaining safe environments, and understanding human development. Other topics offered may cover anatomy and physiology, the impact of diet on health, and human lifespan development. The choice of units is reviewed each year to ensure it meets the interests and future plans of the students.
