Student Accommodation

Where will you live?
International students studying in the UK at John Leggott will live locally in one of our fantastic accommodation options
All international students at John Leggott College have access to high-quality, safe, and supportive accommodation. We are proud to offer three excellent living options designed to suit different levels of independence and student preference: Homestay accommodation, our brand-new 18+ Student Accommodation, and our new partnership with St James’ Boarding School in Grimsby.

Choosing Accommodation
At John Leggott College, every international student can choose the accommodation that best suits their needs and level of independence.
Students may:
-
Spend both years living with a host family, enjoying a supportive home environment throughout their studies.
-
Begin their studies in Homestay accommodation during their first year, then
-
Move into the 18+ Student Accommodation in their second year to prepare for university life.
-
Or choose the traditional boarding experience at St James’ School for a structured, community-based lifestyle.
Whatever the choice, all accommodation options are safe, welcoming and designed to help students thrive both academically & personally during their time at John Leggott College.
Homestay Accommodation
Homestay is our most popular accommodation option for international students, offering a safe, comfortable, and welcoming place to live while studying at John Leggott College.
Each student stays with one of our carefully selected host families, who provide not only a home but a supportive environment where students can settle in, grow in confidence, and feel part of everyday life in the UK.
Living with a host family gives students daily opportunities to practise their English, experience British culture first-hand, and build lasting relationships. Many students stay in touch with their hosts long after leaving JLC, reflecting the strong connections that often develop.

Care & Safeguarding
Every student has their own private bedroom, and all homes are located within an hour of the college by bus. Many are within walking or cycling distance. Before arrival, students receive information about their host family so they can begin getting to know each other.
Host families are fully DBS checked, trained, and visited by the college to ensure students are well supported. Homestay is offered as catered or self-catered. Catered students receive breakfast and an evening meal on weekdays, plus all meals at weekends. During college hours, students can enjoy a wide selection of hot and cold meals from our modern dining spaces.
Homestay provides the reassurance of a caring household combined with the independence of living abroad. It is an excellent choice for students who want a warm, friendly home environment as they begin their journey at John Leggott College.
