There are a number of important documents all applicants must fill in as part of their application to John Leggott College. Once you have filled in the application form, students and parents will be asked to complete parent consent, medical and 'all about me' forms to ensure JLC are able to provide an exceptional level of service and care. How to Apply: Complete & Submit Your International Application
To apply to study abroad at John Leggott College, please follow these simple steps to submit your digital application:

Complete: Fill out the application form in full.

Submit: Email your completed form back to us at jlcinternational@leggott.ac.uk, ensuring you attach the following mandatory supporting documents:

A clear copy of your valid passport photo page.

Copies of your academic certificates or transcripts (if applicable).

Important Travel Notice for EU Students: Please note that European Union (EU) National ID Cards are no longer accepted as valid travel documents to enter the UK. All international applicants must hold a valid passport to travel and study here.
Step 3
Interview & Conditional Offer
1. You will be offered an online interview
2. If you are successful on interview and your transcript meets the required grades, you'll receive a conditional offer.

Proof of English (SELT)
English Language Requirements (SELT)
To comply with UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) regulations, international students studying below degree level (such as A Levels or Vocational courses) must demonstrate their English proficiency.

Take an Approved Test: You must take an academic Secure English Language Test (SELT) through a UKVI-approved provider. You can view the official list of authorized test providers and locations on the GOV.UK Secure English Language Test Guide.

Check Your Required Level: Most international applicants require a minimum CEFR B1 level for further education. To review the specific tier requirements for your application, check the GOV.UK Student Visa Knowledge of English Guidance.
Once you have your SELT certificate please send this to our International team. When this has been checked by our team you will then receive an unconditional offer.
Step 5
International Fees & How to Pay
To officially accept your offer and secure your study place at John Leggott College, you will need to complete the payment of your initial invoice. This deposit is essential for clearing your confirmation of acceptance for studies (CAS) for your UK student visa.

CAS Issued & Visa Approval
Once your international visa documents are verified, John Leggott College (JLC) will draft your Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) within 6 months of your course enrolment date. We will send you a draft CAS to check for accuracy; once you confirm the details, we will issue your official CAS alongside a step-by-step student visa application guide.
Following your UK student visa application and it is officially approved, you must share your digital status with John Leggott College before your arrival. This allows our compliance team to verify your immigration status and complete your enrollment.
Please complete the following steps as soon as you receive your decision:

1. Submit Your Documents: Email a clear copy of your official UKVI decision letter or approval email directly to jlcinternational@leggott.ac.uk.

2. Generate an eVisa Share Code: Log in to your secure UKVI online account to view your digital visa status. Generate a 9-character Right to Study Share Code and email it to us along with your date of birth.
Note: When asked what you need the code for on the government website, please select "something else" (rather than work or rent) to generate the correct educational check code.
You can access your digital records and create your code directly on the official GOV.UK View and Prove Your Immigration Status Page.
Crucial Visa Check Before You Travel
It is your responsibility to check that all details on your digital eVisa match your passport exactly. If you spot any errors, you must inform John Leggott College immediately before travelling to the UK.
If you are still outside the UK, you must contact your local UKVI Visa Application Centre straight away to have the digital record corrected. If you travel with an incorrect visa, it may not activate properly at the UK border, which can disrupt your ability to start your courses on time.
Step 7
Accommodation & Travel
Following this, you will receive your UK host family accommodation details. We strongly encourage you to make contact with your host family prior to your arrival. Please note that any outstanding tuition or accommodation fees must be paid in full before traveling to the UK. Finally, please complete our official arrival form, ensuring you provide your accurate flight details and total number of checked luggage pieces.
Step 8
Airport Transfers & Enrolment Week
Our International Support Team will confirm your official college enrolment week dates. John Leggott College will organize your airport transfer directly to your host family accommodation. Upon arrival, please keep all boarding passes and flight tickets, as you must provide them on your enrolment day for UKVI visa compliance.
It is highly recommended that you attend the full International Student Induction and Enrolment Programme. This welcome week is designed to help you settle into UK college life, adapt to the local area, and make new friends before lessons start.
Your comprehensive college induction will include:

English Language Assessment: To ensure you have the correct academic language support.

Campus & Local Area Tour: To help you find your way around our Scunthorpe campus and town centre.

Academic Guidance & Course Selection: A 1-to-1 session to finalize your A-Level, T-Level, or BTEC timetable.
Please notify the International Team immediately if an unexpected travel delay means you are unable to attend.
Your 8 step application
Using the Apply Now short online application form, the student submits preliminary information. We will then contact students for:
1. Further personal information
2. Copy of passport
3. Translated copy of most recent school transcript/report
1. You will be offered an online interview
2. If you are successful on interview and your transcript meets the required grades, you'll receive a conditional offer.
Students must take an academic SELT to prove their English level, please check the required level here. Once you have your SELT certificate please send this to our International team. When this has been checked by our team you will then receive an unconditional offer.
To secure your place, you will need to pay your invoice. Please see more on our fees here. The next step will be to provide multiple documents for your Visa Applications, these include parental consent form, birth certificate, medical form, vaccination records and an all about me form. Please see our Visas page for more detailed information.
Once all your visa documents have been received and verified, JLC drafts CAS (within 6 months of enrolment date). A draft is sent to you to check all details are correct, when confirmed, CAS is sent to you and a letter explaining how to apply for the visa.

Once VISA has been received, a copy of the decision letter/email is sent to JLC as well as a Sharecode to check the EVISA

If anything is wrong with the visa, you are responsible for letting JLC know before travelling to the UK. You must also inform UKVI in their own country to have this fixed.

Next, you will receive information about your host family. You will be encouraged to make contact with them prior to your arrival. Any outstanding fee's will need to be made before your travel to the UK. Please fill out an arrival form detailing your flight details and number of pieces of luggage
Our International Team confirms enrolment week dates. We will organise your transport from the airport to your host family. You must keep hold of your flight tickets and provide them to us on your enrolment day.
