All international students receive two dedicated IELTS classes per week, totalling three hours of focused English language learning. This structured support runs throughout your time at JLC and is designed to help you succeed in your academic subjects while preparing for future university applications.

Why IELTS Matters for Your Academic Journey

IELTS (International English Language Testing System) is the most widely recognised English proficiency test for studying in the UK and internationally.

Because of this, international students are expected to retake IELTS before applying to university. Your IELTS classes at JLC are designed specifically to help you make the progress needed to reach these higher academic requirements.

IELTS Certificate Validity and Retaking the Test

It is important to understand that IELTS certificates are only valid for two years from the test date. After this period, results can no longer be used for university or visa applications.

This is why JLC ensures students are continually preparing and supported to retake IELTS at the right stage of their academic journey.
