Humberside Lifestyle Project

Humberside Lifestyle Project

At John Leggott College, we believe that education should inspire students to make a positive difference in the world around them. Recently, our students took part in the Lifestyle Project in partnership with Humberside Police, working together to support primary school children and help them feel safer within their communities.

The Lifestyle Project encourages young people to create change in their local areas through teamwork, creativity and community engagement. For our JLC students, it was a chance to step outside the classroom, connect with younger children and help them build confidence in recognising how to stay safe. Through a series of fun and interactive sessions, the students encouraged children to share their thoughts and ask questions about what safety means to them.

Taking part in projects like this helps our students grow as individuals while developing valuable life skills such as communication, leadership and empathy. Many of our students, both local and international, found it a rewarding experience that strengthened their understanding of community life in the UK. It was also a reminder of how powerful it can be when young people work together to create positive change.

At John Leggott College, we are proud to see our students using their time, energy and creativity to support others. The Lifestyle Project reflects our commitment to helping every student become confident, compassionate and active members of society. The skills and experiences they gain through community projects like this stay with them for life.
