Farewell to Our International Leavers
Farewell to Our International Leavers
International Students Graduating from UK Sixth Form College
A week ago, we said goodbye to some very special people.
Our International Leavers 2026 joined us from countries all over the world. Some arrived nervous and unsure of what to expect. Others arrived full of excitement and ready for adventure. All of them left having grown in ways they probably could not have imagined on that very first day.
Watching them walk away with their certificates, smiling and laughing with the friends they have made along the way, is one of the best moments of our year.
International Student Leavers Ceremony at JLC
The evening began with live music performed by the students themselves. It was a lovely reminder of just how much talent exists within our international community, and it set exactly the right tone for what followed.
Two speeches were delivered, both full of warmth and honesty. Hearing students reflect on their time at JLC, on the difficulties they overcame and the moments they will always remember, was genuinely moving for everyone in the room.
Certificates were then presented to each student, a formal recognition of everything they have worked so hard to achieve over two years of study at a UK sixth form college.
A Final Celebration for Our International Students
After the ceremony, the group headed to Cleatham Hall for their final meal together. It was a fitting end to the evening and to their time at JLC. Good food, good conversation and the kind of laughter that only comes from people who have been through something meaningful together.
Those are the moments that stay with you. Not just the grades or the qualifications, but the people sitting around the table with you.
A huge thank you to everyone at Cleatham Hall for hosting us so beautifully and for helping to make the evening so special. It was the perfect setting for a night our students will not forget.
Building Lifelong Friendships Through International Study in the UK
Something quite special happens when you move to a new country to study. The people around you quickly become your support network, your social life and your family away from home. At JLC, we see that happen every year without fail.
Students arrive from different countries, speaking different languages, with very different life experiences. Within weeks, they are sharing meals, helping each other with coursework and exploring their new home together. By the time they leave, they have built friendships that genuinely cross borders.
To our Class of 2026: please stay in touch with each other. The connections you have made here are worth holding on to. And please do not be strangers with us either. We would love to hear how your next chapter unfolds.
