JLC Staff Show Their Support for Movember
Why Is Movember Important?
This November, staff at John Leggott College are once again showing their support for Movember, helping to raise awareness of men's health and the importance of starting conversations that could make a real difference.
Movember is an annual campaign that encourages people to take action and improve men's health, shining a spotlight on issues that can often go unspoken.
Men's health deserves greater awareness, understanding and open conversation. Movember focuses on several important areas, including prostate cancer, testicular cancer, mental health and suicide prevention. The campaign encourages men to take notice of changes in their physical and mental health, seek advice when something doesn't feel right and feel comfortable reaching out for support when they need it. It also highlights the importance of looking out for friends, family members and colleagues. Sometimes, simply checking in with someone and asking how they are can be the starting point for an important conversation.
John Leggott College Gets Behind Movember
Throughout November, our staff will be getting involved in the annual campaign and showing their support for this important cause. Whether it's growing a moustache, taking on a challenge or helping to spread awareness, every contribution plays a part in encouraging conversations and challenging the stigma that can surround men's health.
As a college community, we recognise the importance of creating an environment where everyone feels able to talk openly about their wellbeing and access support when they need it. We're proud to be supporting Movember once again and helping to spread an important message.
Let's start the conversation. Let's make a difference.
