John Leggott College is celebrating the exceptional achievements of its Class of 2026, with students securing positive destinations across higher education, apprenticeships, employment and further training following another successful year of A Level and Level 3 results.

The Class of 2026 have demonstrated remarkable dedication, resilience and ambition throughout their time at college, achieving results that will open doors to exciting futures. 84% achieved A*-C grades or equivalent, while 60% are progressing to Higher Education at more than 70 universities across the UK and internationally.

This year also marks an important milestone for the college, as its first cohort of T Level students have successfully completed their programmes and progressed to positive destinations. Combining technical knowledge with practical industry experience, the T Level programme reflects John Leggott College’s commitment to preparing students with the skills, confidence and experience needed for the next stage of their education or career.

Principal Leon Riley praised the achievements of students:

Students are now preparing to take their next steps, with destinations including leading universities, competitive apprenticeship programmes and employment across a wide range of industries. The college’s focus on careers and destinations ensures students are supported to make informed choices and develop the knowledge, skills and experience needed to achieve their ambitions.

Among the college’s high achievers is Harry Stephenson, who studied A Level Maths, Physics and Chemistry and achieved an outstanding A*, A, A. Harry will now begin an Accountancy Apprenticeship at RNS Chartered Accountants, combining further study with valuable professional experience.

The college’s Aspire Programme continues to provide specialist support for students aiming for competitive courses and university destinations. 

This year, Thomas Lawson achieved A*, A*, A in A Level Maths, Chemistry and Biology and will progress to study Medicine at Newcastle University.

“The Aspire MDV Programme (Medics, Dentists, Vets) at John Leggott College has been really valuable. Nigel was really encouraging and I’ve made a lot of friends along the way. I’m excited to start my Medicine course at Newcastle University in September.”
