John Leggott College is once again celebrating the remarkable achievements of its learners, following another year of exceptional A-Level and Level 3 results. This year’s outcomes reflect the talent, commitment, and ambition of the Class of 2025, who have triumphed in the face of continued challenges and change within education.
8 in 10 learners achieved A*-C grades or equivalent, with 48% A Level high grades and 77% BTEC/CTEC high grades. An incredible 329 learners achieved an A* or equivalent grade, with 75 students achieving 3 A/A* grades (or equivalent), reinforcing John Leggott College’s position as a centre of academic excellence in the region.
Principal Leon Riley praised the results, commenting:
“We are incredibly proud of our students and the fantastic results they’ve achieved this year. Their resilience, ambition and determination, combined with the dedication and expertise of our exceptional staff have delivered outcomes that open doors to exciting futures.”
Students are now preparing to take their next steps into higher education, apprenticeships, and employment with a record number securing places at prestigious Russell Group universities. Destinations also include the University of Oxford, renowned conservatoires, and highly competitive apprenticeship programmes such as Rolls Royce.
Among this year’s high achievers is Harry Blackburn, who studied A Level Business, A Level Maths and A Level Accounting and is heading to The University of Manchester to study International Economics. They shared: “I can’t believe it! I achieved an A* in Business and Maths, an A in Accounting and an A in my extended project qualification. I’m really pleased with my results and I can’t wait to start University in Manchester this year.”
The college's Aspire Programme continues to support students aiming for the most competitive university places and courses. This year, 100% of the candidates that successfully applied to Oxford have now achieved the qualifications to progress to their desired destination, with Filip Dolejan among them. Filip will go on to study Physics after achieving A* grades in A Level Maths, Chemistry and Biology.
“I’m really grateful to John Leggott College for all the support they have given me during my time at College. The Aspire programme really helped me to prepare to apply for top universities in the UK and I am looking forward to attending university in the autumn.”
