JLC Beyond The Game Podcast

JLC Sport Launches Beyond The Game Podcast

The first guest on John Leggott College's new sport podcast is an Olympic champion. Darren Campbell, part of the British team that won 4x100m relay gold at the Athens 2004 Olympics, joins host Phill Dalowsky for episode 1 of Beyond The Game, coming soon.

What is Beyond The Game?

It's JLC Sport's new podcast, hosted by Phill Dalowsky, who coaches the college's First Team football squad.

For JLC students, it's a chance to hear how people at the top of sport think about training, pressure and the years of work behind a result, from a coach they already know.

Who is Darren Campbell?

One of Great Britain's most decorated sprinters. His medals came at the Olympics, World Championships, European Championships and Commonwealth Games. They include Olympic relay gold in Athens in 2004 and Olympic silver over 200m in Sydney in 2000.

Episode 1 will hear more about his career and what it took to win at that level.

How does the podcast fit into sport at JLC?

It adds another way into sport for students, alongside playing it. JLC students train and compete for the college's football, basketball, netball and other sports teams, with fixtures against other colleges through the year. Phill's First Team squad is one of them.

There's more on facilities, academies and pathways on JLC's sport page. Year 11 students who play sport and want to see where they could train can come to one of JLC's open events.
